The purpose of this document is to provide an initial scoping and understanding of an integration with Arctic Shores. This is to ensure all parties involved understand the complexity, feasibility and viability of the integration.

The Arctic Shores API is a gateway for Applicant Tracking Systems or HR Information platforms to connect and use the Arctic Shores assessment as part of their recruitment process.
Why use the Arctic Shores API?
The Arctic Shores API provides a seamless solution to connect behaviour based assessments to your existing applicant tracking system. It offers multiple advantages over using the Arctic Shores DataHub directly:
What information is available via the API?
How does the API work?
The API works by passing data between Arctic Shores and the third party vendor. In the first instance, candidate information needs to be passed from the third party vendor to Arctic Shores in order to register a candidate for the assessment. In return, Arctic Shores will send to the vendor or candidate an invitation to take the assessment.
Once the candidate has completed the assessment, their results will be recorded by Arctic Shores and scored against specific Fit Profiles to the roles they have applied for. These scores will then be sent to the vendor. Arctic Shores will also generate a feedback report for both candidates and hiring managers which is also available via the API.
What does a typical user journey look like?
In a typical user journey for the candidate, they would apply for a role on the applicant tracking system (ATS) which is managed by the hiring client. The hiring manager would then assess the candidate and if passed requirements to be moved to the assessment stage. Once in the assessment stage, it automatically triggers the integration process to the Arctic Shores API. The Arctic Shores API then registers that candidate to take the assessment and sends them the invitation by email or website link. The candidate then takes the assessment within the given timeframe set by the hiring manager. Once the assessment is completed, Arctic Shores then sends the score and reports to the ATS. The hiring manager then determines from the results if the candidate can be progressed to the next stage of the recruitment process.
What are the security features of the API?
All data transferred via the API is secured and encrypted via HTTPS. The authentication is via HTTP Basic Auth which an user needs to register on the Arctic Shores Platform to obtain the required credentials. The API also supports if API keys are required by the third party vendors.
Integration options available include Third Party Integrations and Bespoke Integrations
